a square or a round-about, from natural causes, such as for example, the earthquake
                          etc.).
The things are distinguished into: a) Movables and Immovables: Immovables are the

ground and the component parts thereof. Movables on the contrary are the ones which
are not immovables, namely the ones which are not the ground or component parts
thereof, that is the ones which exist self-containedly and can be moved. Movables are

inter alia, animals, money, the instruments representing value, ships, aircraft, cars and
the accessories thereof. b) into principal and dependent things: Principal things are the
ground and the building, and in general any immovable or movable as to the things

which are connected to them or as to the things which serve these. Dependent parts
(e.g. the furniture of the house, the ship’s machinery, the drawers of the desk etc.) are

the component parts and the accessories. The accessories are pursuant to art. 956 et
seq. CC always movables, which without being component parts were intended by the
law or by individuals into the continuous service of the principal thing and they were

set to an according to this end local relationship. Component parts follow the legal fate
of the principle thing while the accessories (e.g. the factory machinery) are subject to
this rule only when in doubt. C) fungibles and non-fungibles. Under article 958

fungibles are only the movables, which are determined usually in transactions by
number, measures or weights (e.g. money, grain, wine etc.) in a way such that in the
event of loss they can be replaced by others. Non-fungibles are in juxtaposition the

movables which are not determined by number, measures and weights such as for
example the TV set and the car as also the immovables d) into consumables and non-

consumables. Under articles 951 and 952 CC consumables are always fungibles the
usage whereof in accordance with their intention consists in consumption (they are
intended for eating or drinking or burning or (by legal fiction) in alienation. Non-

consumables are on the contrary the movables the in accordance with their end usage
whereof does not lie in consumption or alienation and the immovables e) Into things in
