of the Foundation. For the transactions of the Foundation with overseas there shall be used the
rendition of the name in the English language namely ‘$$$ FOUNDATION’.
Article 2
Purposes of the Foundation.
1. The purposes of the Foundation ‘$$$ FOUNDATION’ are the following:
a. The operation of the seated in $, $ Museum of Contemporary Art of the Foundation (Old
and New Wing), where there is exhibited in the largest part of the year a part of the
collection of the Foundation comprising works of modern and contemporary art of
significant Greek and foreign artists and in the summer period periodical exhibitions of
distinguished Greek and foreign artists of the modern and contemporary era.
b. The promotion at a national and international level of the Fine Arts in general and especially
the Visual Arts (indicatively Painting, Print – Making, Sculpture) of Music, the Letters and
Science, which will be attained to a great degree by means of the establishment and
operation of a Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens, to which there shall have access a
greater part of the public than to the Museum of Contemporary Art which operates in
Andros and in which there shall be exhibited works belonging to the collection of the
Foundation and shall be accommodated periodical exhibitions of distinguished Greek and
foreign artists of the modern and contemporary era.
c. The execution of the any type of common – benefit, national – benefit, educational or
religious projects in the entire Greek territory. The provision of grants to such projects and
the in any manner in the judgment of the administration of the Foundation, contribution
thereof to the execution and operation of such projects.
2. Means of the realization of this purpose are mainly the following:
a) The organization of permanent and periodical exhibitions of works of art, independently or
in collaboration with other museums or similar authoritative cultural or scientific
organizations.
b) The organization of any type of events with the thematic axes relevant to the purposes of
the Foundation (indicatively: lectures, conferences, viewings, performances, concerts and
other feature events of artistic and interdisciplinary character) as well as the production or
participation in the production of print or audiovisual material of any type by means of
aural, visual or other depictions of the appropriate technology with a content related to the
purposes of the foundation.
c) The drafting of educational programmes and the creation of artistic workshops as well as
the realization of tours and seminars.
d) The granting of scholarships to students for postgraduate studies overseas (primarily
Europe and the USA) in disciplines which fall within the area of Art and Culture in general
as well as the provision of financial aid to students of inland of such disciplines who are
facing substantial financial weakness.
e) The financial aid of common-benefit, national-benefit educational and religious projects as
well as the financial support of young persons or also their families for the meeting of
emergency financial needs.
f) The institutionalization of awards (moral and monetary) for Greeks and foreigners who
excel in the Arts and in Culture.
g) The cooperation on a Greek and international level with public and private bodies of the
same or relevant purposes and activities.
h) The participation in European and international programmes.
i) The operation within the Foundation’s museums of a bookstore / shop, wherein there shall
be on sale publications of the Foundation and of other entities (catalogues, DVD’s, posters,
