j. ‘Other charges’: The charges borne by the Customer and concerning duties
and taxes which are refunded by the Supplier to third parties, pursuant to the
currently standing legislation.
k. ‘Meter’: The metering instrument which has been installed in the Installation
for the determination of the quantity of the electricity which was delivered to it.
l. ‘MMDEI’: Transitional Mechanism for the Ensuring of Power Security
m. “System Marginal Price (SMP)”: is the price at which the electricity purchase
is cleared and the price which is paid by all parties requesting energy from the
System. The SMP is fixed by the combination of the price and quantity offers
submitted every day by the available power plant units and the hourly electricity
demand load which is determined on a daily basis by the consumers. Attempting
a simple description of the computation method of the SMP in accordance with
the basic principles of microeconomics it can be stated that the power station
units are ranked according to their offers on an ascending order starting from
the lowest offered price for a certain quantity of energy and ending at the highest
offered price. At the point where the offered energy quantities serve the
requested load also the SMP is determined. In essence, the SMP coincides to
the offer of the last unit that must operate to cover the demand.
n. “Regulated Charges”: the charges borne by the Customers and concerning
electricity-supply-related services provided by third parties, as well as
countervailing duties, to the extent that the sums of such charges are paid to the
System Operator or to the Operator of the relevant Network or third parties by
the Supplier, who represents their meters, pursuant to the stipulations of the
Networks Operation Codes.
o. “Regulatory Authority for Energy” or “RAE”: The Independent Regulatory
Authority for Energy, which was established by Law 2773/1999.
p. “Contract”: The present contract for the supply of electricity.

by the Customer in the Application and with the metering readings of the energy meters
that have been or are to be installed by the Network Operator. The Supplier shall record
the quantity of the electricity he supplies to the Customer with medium - voltage load
meters. In any event, the Supplier shall invoice the Customer by the issuance of forward
Bills for the estimated consumption and actual Bills for the actual consumption of
electricity in his Installation. The total of the metered energy shall be regarded as
energy provided by Supplier and the metering data sent by the Operator to the Supplier
constitute complete proof towards the Customer.
5.2. In the event that the electronic meter reading collection system does not function
or there is a failure in the meter, the receipt of the metering readings shall be effected
