trafficking of narcotic drugs and arson. b. The persons performing port stevedoring
operations are registered mandatorily in Register A´. The persons performing
stevedoring land operations are registered optionally in Register A´ insofar as they
desire so. 5. a. In order to register in Register B´ - Port Stevedores Register the
applicant must have: aa. professional experience which is evidenced with insurance
which corresponds to one hundred and eighty (180) insurance stumps, with a final
registration in the Unified Social Security Organization [EFKA], in the respective
Specialty Code in conjunction to the Cover Package Code of the port stevedore, or bb.
Professional experience, which is evidenced with insurance which corresponds to
ninety (90) insurance stamps with the final registration in Unified Social Security
Organization [EFKA], in the respective specialty code of port stevedore in conjunction
to the Package Cover Code and the certification of the port stevedore skills by the
National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance
(‘EOPPEP’), or another accredited body from the Hellenic Accreditation System
(‘ESYD’) under ISO/IEC 17024, which is granted following the attendance of A
vocational training program, pursuant to the specification of the currently standing
Certified Professional Profile of the Port Stevedores, as it has been approved by the
National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications and Vocational Guidance
(‘EOPPEP’), b. The registration requirements in Register B´ - Port Stevedores Register
which are stated in case a´ are applicable also for the persons who are already
registered in Register A´ on the entry into force hereof. 6. […]. 7. […]. 8. […].”.
[…] Pursuant to the Greek legal order mooring services are provided by the specialised
stevedores, by boatmen and by employees of the pilotage service.
In particular, mooring constitutes also a specialised stevedoring operation, pursuant to the
provision of case a´ of par. 3 of Article 2 of L. 4455/2017, which provides the following: ‘3.
The persons registered in Register B´, of Port, Land and in Register B´ of the Holders of an
Operating Engineer Licence, perform the ‘the specialised loading and unloading operations’
and handle the ‘special or dangerous cargoes’ as per case, as they are specified in the following:
a. As ‘specialised loading and unloading operations’ are meant the loading and unloading
operations performed at a large height, hull operations, the crane loading and unloading
operations of connection / disconnection, the guidance of crane operations, the operation of
cargo tallyman and the other operations which linked to loading and unloading involving a high
risk of the incurrence of an accident or pollution, including the mooring of ships and boats.’’
