the inmates on Wednesday, the 22 of March 2017 at the event room of the
Second Chance School. The Music Workshop has been operating since January
2017, on a weekly basis, as an educational-social program, with more musical
instruments and with the music teachers of the Alternative Scene of the Greek
National Opera Maria - Christina Papadopoulou (Harpist-Music Therapist), Thalia
- Marie Papadopoulou (Musician - Music Educator, Choreographer), Eva Karterou
(Musician - Music Educator), Evi Nakou (Musician-Music Educator). The concerts
were attended by approximately 200 trainee inmates, journalists, members of the
Board of Directors and collaborators of the Greek National Opera. The concert was
recorded on a compact disc.
CONCERTS BY TOP PROFESSIONAL MUSICIANS
Concert with Rita Antonopoulou, Fiori Metallinou, Vasilis Gisdakis, Philippos
Plakias, Nikos Platanos at an outdoor area with the support of the Seminar School
“Open Art” and its chairman Alexandros Asonitis. The concert was attended by
160 inmates.
Concert by the popular singer Giorgos Margaritis and his group at an outdoor
area of the Korydallos Detention Facility. The concert was attended by more than
100 inmates.
Concert (12-6-2017) by the Catalan songwriter Josep Tero with poems put to
music by K. P. Kavafis with the support of the VETERANS of the
PROODEFTIKI sport club.
FILM EDUCATION
COURSES IN FILM, PHOTOGRAPHY, SOUND ENGINEERING BY THE
GREEK FILM CENTER
(with the responsibility of the Social Agency)
In cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sport and the financing by the
Greek Film Center there has been realized an educational program on film,
photography, sound engineering and two classes have been operating (males’ class
and women’s class). In the men’s class two four-hour lessons are realized every
week with theoretical and practical film lessons pursuing the completion of no less
than two short films and in the women’s class one two-hour lesson per week, a
theoretical lesson in film which is focused on script writing. The program includes
a brief introduction in the history of world cinema with special reference to the
Greek production, especially of the latest years. Apart from the theoretical part,
viewings of short and long films are made. Last, the production process of a film
from the first until the final stage has been developing in a simple and
comprehensible manner. Analytically, the following units are described: Concept,
Theme, Script, Creative Script Writing, Decoupage, Casting, Reperage, Setting up
